Born in New York, Malfa lived in Staten Island before moving to Franklin Lakes 18 years ago. She was a parishioner of Most Blessed Sacrament Church, in Franklin Lakes.
She is survived by her children, Donna Roman, Carmela Serrano and Rose Portera; grandchildren Danielle, John, Jenna Austin and Francesca; and great-grandchildren Gianna, Carlos and Paulie.
Malfa was predeceased by her husband, Nunzio Malfa, and several brothers and sisters.
The funeral service was on Tuesday morning, Jan. 24, at the Vander Plaat Vermeulen Memorial Home, followed by a funeral mass at the Most Blessed Sacrament Church. Interment was at Christ the King Cemetery, in Franklin Lakes.
